Richard Vanden Heuvel was a 20 year old tail gunner on that B-29 in the video 65 years ago off the coast of Japan. He'd volunteered for the mission when the assigned tail gunner was unable to fly. The whole story of his rescue with the entire crew was reported by Channel 9 News in Denver, and posted on their website this past Veterans Day. You can read that report here. Divine Providence was certainly at work that day.
