There has never been a more timely movie than "For Greater Glory."  It's absolutely a must see movie if you believe in religious freedom, and, if you don't believe in religious freedom, you will when you lose it.

"The Way" - Lessons for Life

When we have movies such as "The Way" being produced, it is fair to think that cultural decay just might be on the wane.

THE WAY is a powerful and inspirational story about family, friends and the challenges we face while navigating this ever-changing and complicated world. Martin Sheen plays Tom, an irascible American doctor who comes to France to deal with the tragic loss of his son (played by Emilio Estevez). Rather than return home, Tom decides to embark on the historical pilgrimage "The Way of St. James" to honor his son's desire to finish the journey. What Tom doesn't plan on is the profound impact this trip will have on him. Through unexpected and oftentimes amusing experiences along "The Way," Tom discovers the difference between "the life we live and the life we choose.”

Inexperienced as a trekker, Tom soon discovers that he will not be alone on this journey. THE WAY, written and directed by Emilio Estevez, was filmed entirely in Spain and France along the actual Camino de Santiago.

"There Be Dragons" is the story of one of the newest saints of the Catholic Church, Josemaria Escriva, the founder of Opus Dei.  According to the website: it is "an epic tale of revolutionaries and saints in a time of civil war; a story of love and heroism amid jealousy, hatred and violence; and a heartbreaking drama about the power of forgiveness to break the chains of the past."

It's all that and more for someone interested in finding transcendence even in the most trying of times.

Fr.
