Kermit's version of "Rainbow Connection" reached #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 in November 1979; it remained in the Top 40 for seven weeks. The song was also nominated for an Oscar that year.
Jim Henson (September 24, 1936 – May 16, 1990) was the man who gave us Kermit, Miss Piggy, many other Muppets - and more. He died suddenly, of Streptococcal Toxic Syndrome, at the age of 53. In those fifty-three years, he brought more joy and beauty into the lives of others than any man in his profession. R.I.P.
