Today, the 39th March for Life is being held in Washington D. C. to protest the Roe v. Wade ruling by the U. S. Supreme Court in 1973. The first march was held, on January 22, 1974, and drew 20,000 marchers. Participation has grown every year, and, since 2003, 200,000 participants have marched.
