Lance Mackey in Nome

He did it! He crossed under the arch at 6:59 PM, EDT. He became the second musher in race history to finish in less than 9 days -- by just 51 seconds. In 2002, Martin Buser set the record when he crossed the finish line in 8 days, 22 hours, 46 minutes and 2 seconds. Mackey's finish today missed that record by less than an hour and a quarter.
