The Pink Glove Dance

The employees of the Providence St. Vincent Medical Center in Portland, Oregon made this video to generate breast cancer awareness throughout their hospital system. If there is anyone, anywhere, who has not been touched by breast cancer, or who knows no one who has been touched by this disease, that person is unknown to me. This is a novel way to bring awareness to a disease that in 2005 (the most recent year for which numbers are available) was diagnosed in 186,467 women. In the same year, 41,116 women died from breast cancer. Survivor rates, though, are on the rise every year, and there is hope. This video celebrates that hope.
