Misplaced Compassion



Sir William Wallace is spinning in his grave. Wallace is the 13th century Scottish Knight and landowner who led the Scottish resistance during the Wars of Scottish Independence. He is a national hero in Scotland, and was lionized in the 1995 movie, Braveheart.

It is doubtful that Scotland will ever lionize Kenny MacAskill (top photo), Scotland's Cabinet Secretary for Justice. He is the politician responsible for releasing Abdelbaset Ali Mohmed Al Megrahi on "compassionate release." Al Megrahi (that's him below MacAskill) is the Libyan convicted of the 1988 bombing of Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland, which killed 270 people.
