The Last Great Race On Earth

From A Special Bulletin of The Iditarod Newsletter:
March 06, 2009
WE ARE COUNTING DOWN THE HOURS…
For the 2009 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race to begin. At 10 am Alaska Time, “The Last Great Race on Earth” will kick off the thirty- seventh running of the the greatest sled dog race on the planet. Canine and human athletes will face some of the most extreme challenges, in the most extreme (and beautiful) environment anywhere. And you can be a part of every minute of the race as an Iditarod Insider. You’ll have a front row seat to the start of the race (today)… the restart of the race in Willow Alaska (tomorrow) and the finish in Nome (on or about the 17th of March), with live streaming coverage only on The Iditarod Insider. In addition, the Insider team will once again provide hundreds of video clips covering every inch of the journey that the field of 67 will take.

You can subscribe to the Iditarod Insider on the Iditarod webpage.

I met a couple from Orlando yesterday (Bob and Vicki Lumpkins), and together we went out to check our trail guard locations. We're leaving here this morning at 8:45 so we can be in position by 9:30. Bob and Vicki's location is about a mile north of my location. Hope to have some good photos to post tonight, if I'm not too tired.
