Another Phony Scandal

Another Phony Scandal by Andrew C. McCarthy on National Review Online

Shared via AddThis

Andrew C. McCarthy is the former Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York who was most notable for convicting Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman (the blind sheik), and eleven others, for the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center. He is currently a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, serving as the director of the Foundation's Center for Law and Counterterrorism.

In this article, McCarthy puts to lie the contention of the Democrats on the House Select Committee on Intelligence that former Vice-President Cheney instructed the C.I.A. to withhold information from Congress. The chairman of that committee, Congressman Silvestre Reyes (D-TX), by the way, is the esteemed member of the House of Representatives who was unable to distinguish between Sunni and Shia Muslims in the midst of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
