On Government Granted Rights


Theodore Dalrymple is the pen name of Anthony Daniels, a retired British psychiatrist and keen observer of a nation's culture or, in the case of his home country, loss of culture. He writes for the American Spectator and many other publications, and is a contributing editor of City Journal, the publication of the Manhattan Institute. He believes strongly that multiculturalism and cultural relativism are at odds with common sense and statistical evidence, and has, in many of his writings, provided empirical examples to prove that thesis.

In his piece today in the Wall Street Journal, he argues that there is no "right to health care," the raison d’être for the National Health Service (socialized medicine) in the UK. Here's a link to his very timely piece:
