Fr. Schall on Mercy

Fr. Schall on Mercy
"Mercy is a response to the repentant. It does not change the unrepentant. It often hardens them. Technically, mercy extends to sin of whatever kind or species. But mercy does not forgive. God in His mercy forgives. Mercy is contingent on the sinner’s acknowledgement that he is responsible for something objectively wrong in his acts or thoughts." (Fr. James V. Schall S. J.)

Previous postings on the "Victims of Duplicitous Demagogues" appeared here on: April 29, April 30, and May 6. It appears now that perhaps sufficient pressure has been exerted on the demagogues by the families of the victims, and maybe, just maybe, right will prevail over special interests and the kids will be given a chance to learn in a safe environment. Now if somebody will tell Dick Durbin to mind his own business we could have a happy ending.
