Disingenuous statements coming from our current president are something, unfortunately, we have all come to expect. The number of such statements he has made concerning his health care reform have probably set an all time record, and the most egregious of those statements are: "If you like your doctor, you will be able to keep your doctor, period. If you like your health care plan, you'll be able to keep your health care plan, period. No one will take it away, no matter what."
Perhaps the most disingenuous statement he has made concerning his plan is that it will save money. The Congressional Budget Office last week estimated the cost of his plan to be $1.04 trillion, which raises the question: Where in the world will we get that money?
Disingenuous statements aside, how about hidden provisions in the mark-up of the Kennedy-Dodd health care bill? One such hidden provision would require insurance plans to contract with organizations that perform abortions. Heard anything about that in the mainstream media? The Heritage Foundation found in the bill this provision that would appear to be payback for all the financial support furnished by the pro-abortion lobby to Congressional Democrats. Here's a link:
